HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY PRODUCT?

OUR LEATHERS

NADA SAWAYA handbags and accessories are made with artisan quality European leather. Each piece is hand-finished to enhance the grain’s natural beauty. Marks and color variations occur in even the most premium and luxurious hides; these are natural and add to the distinction of each individual piece.

A NADA SAWAYA leather good will become more beautiful with age.

To care for and extend the life of your handbag or accessory

Do not overload your leather bag. Leather has the ability to mold to a shape. Over stuffing may result in permanent bumps and lumps on leather surface.
Keep your leather bag away from humidity, direct sunlight and heat source. (Sun, radiators)
Prevent any contact with alcohol (perfume, solvent), hair product and greasy substance (make up).
Store your bag standing up in its dust bag, filled with silk paper so it retains its shape
Avoid contact with rough or abrasive materials
Prevent rough exposure to metallic parts as the coating may chip and clean with a soft dry cloth.
Take specific care of white or light-hued bags to avoid stains, as it is difficult to clean them. They are sensitive to sunlight and heat and might fade.
A damp cloth and leather conditioning cream (which has been tested in an inconspicuous area) should be used three or four times a year to facilitate the durability, shine and increase the beauty of the leather bag.
Cleaners such as caustic household chemicals, leather preparations that contain alcohol, turpentine, and mineral spirits must never be used on your leather bag. It may result in permanent damage to the protective coating and distort the color.
No waxes or silicone should be used on soft leather as they gum up the pores, making it impossible to condition.
Waterproof your leather good and maintain it with a professional leather conditioner regularly

In case of problems:

To clean your leather good, wipe with a clear, nonabrasive and soft dry cloth
In case of contact with water, do not rub the leather: use a clear dry cloth and apply a gentle tapping motion to absorb the liquid
If stains occur, dab the area with a damp soft cloth and leave to dry air. Apply clear leather cream using gentle circling motions.
Grinding ordinary blackboard chalk, sprinkling the area and leaving the powder on for a twenty-four-hour period can sometimes clean marks from oil or grease.
Professional leather cleaning is always better recommended.

Leather is a beautiful natural material that is known for its strong, durable characteristic. With proper care and use, your bag will last for generations.

EXOTIC LEATHER

The epitome of luxury and sophistication, exotic leather has long played a pivotal role in design. Each hide is truly unique, allowing designers and craftsmen to create one-of-a-kind piece. Natural variations in scale patterns, color and thickness occur in all exotic leathers.

To care for and extend the life of your exotic leather handbag or accessory:

Do not overload your bag.
Avoid exposing your handbag to direct sunlight as almost as much as possible. UV light is unhealthy for all types of skin including snakeskin. It’s going to cause the skin to dry out and turn yellow and the scales may lift.
Keep your exotic leather bag away from humidity, always store it in a very temperature controlled environment.
Prevent rough exposure to metallic parts as the coating may chip and clean with a soft dry cloth.
Avoid contact with rough or abrasive surfaces as this may chip the scales. After prolonged use, it is natural that the scales will “turn up”. These are natural characteristics of the animal and should not be considered as imperfections.
Prevent any contact with alcohol (perfume, solvent), hair product and greasy substance (make up), which can permanently damage the skin.
Avoid getting lotion or oils on your own python handbag, as it may be impossible to take out.
Take specific care of white or light-hued bags to avoid stains, as it is difficult to clean them. They are sensitive to sunlight and heat and might fade.
Cleaners such as caustic household chemicals, leather preparations that contain alcohol, turpentine, and mineral spirits must never be used on your exotic leather bag. It may result in permanent damage to the protective coating and distort the color.
No waxes or silicone should be used on exotic leather as they gum up the pores, making it impossible to condition.
Never store a python handbag in plastic. Snakeskin needs to breathe and plastic prevents air from getting to the skin. Wrap the handbag in acid free tissue and store in the cardboard container to preserve the color and appearance.
Store your bag standing up in its dust bag, filled with silk paper so it retains its shape
It is vital to condition a python handbag regularly.

In case of problems:

To clean, gently wipe the surface in the direction of the scales with a clear, non-abrasive and soft dry cloth.
In case of contact with water, do not rub the leather: use a clear dry cloth and apply a gentle tapping motion to absorb the liquid
Exotic leather care products may be used for spot cleaning; however, professional cleaning is recommended.
